九層塔音樂分享：Landon Pigg 《Coffeeshop》

綿綿的細雨總讓很“宅”的我藉故不出門。
也因為依然下著雨，
Landon Pigg醇厚慵懶的聲音變得特別寫意恰當。

不要誤會，專輯名字《Coffeeshop》
指的並非“咖啡店”（kopitiam）
而是國外的“咖啡館”（cafè）。
而EP所佈置的音樂場景就是那種步入咖啡館
濃郁咖啡香衝鼻的那種早晨的清晰，
或是對新的一天，重新出發的一份期待。

主打歌曲Falling in Love in A Coffeeshop
描述的正是一個咖啡館的曖昧或單戀。
EP中讓我耳目一新的其實是他翻唱
Frank Sinatra 的經典歌曲
Young At Heart。
我喜歡歌手為舊的歌曲做全新的詮釋，
（像林一峰的“Boy From Ipanema”）
而不是一板一眼的翻唱，
（像Jolin的“懷念”）
乾脆叫翻版。

感覺Landon Pigg的確有重新消化了Sinatra的經典
更讓他適應／融入了當代的音樂源流，
卻不失歌曲原有的價值。

    falling in love…<br />
    the sound mix/palette pleases me much and the drum's toms remind<br />
    me of fairground attraction. <br />

    i love his voice.
    i must admit it's really a common formulaic lo-fi indie voice
    but it really tugs and bites me to hear him sing.
    i bought this EP on amazon, when my friend was returning for his
    summer vacation. you could try HMV? or gramaphone capitol which
    has a new american indie shelf.

  2. as often said, common sense is hardly common. <br />
    i think the sound of simplicity & subtlety of this Coffee Shop<br />
    song hit a common ground within me. = ) <br />
